My wife Kathleen and I became acquainted with Holy Cross some 15 years ago when we supported the effort of St. Paul’s, Concord, that had an extended and helpful ministry at Holy Cross. We were impressed by the worship and work of the clergy and people at that time.
Numerous events changed the direction of the Weare congregation and we lessened our attendance. However, we heard that a new priest and his wife with interesting backgrounds had been called and accepted the challenge of raising up a faltering missionary congregation. Upon visiting we were most impressed by the solid liturgical worship and preaching of Fr. John and the warmth and hospitable attitude and actions of the congregation. The outreach to the surrounding communities offering worship and an activity center gave a good mix of a mission to all people regardless of age or circumstances.
A lot of skillful and loving hands have erected a fine new building that serves as a beacon of beauty and purpose in a pastoral New England setting. We happily support all efforts needed to strengthen and sustain the ministry at Holy Cross of which we are all apart.
